SÜLEYMAN BURSALI

The foundations of our group were laid two generations ago, in 1955, by our grandfather, Süleyman Bursalı, opening a dry goods store. Fuat Bursalı, who took over this small family-run business in 1974, when Süleyman Bursalı was elected mayor, created big companies out of this store thanks to both his vision and his activities made. Towel production was started in 1980 with four weaving machines and six employees.

Taking the decision to expand towel production, Fuat Bursalı continued to invest doing his utmost. With his ambition, determination and talents, Fuat Bursalı, who constantly added new successes to those of these family-run businesses, converted them into a significant national group of companies. Today, the company is not only the biggest towel-producing companies in Turkey, but, at the same time, it also ranks among the most important companies worldwide.

All succeeding generations following the lead of Süleyman Bursalı, the company founder, strengthened the group even more by making new investments, and made it become a very strong group of companies that employs more than 1,000 people.

During his mayoralty in Amasya, where he was born and where he grew up, Süleyman Bursalı, who won the affections of both the statesmen and the local people due to his outstanding success in introducing our country to the world, and in dignifying our state, was awarded many times by statesmen due to these accomplishments.

We express our deep gratitude to Süleyman Bursalı, our company’s late founder, for his zeal and his efforts in our group’s foundation, development and persistence to date, and we always commemorate him with great respect and mercy.
